A Review of “If I Fall – 24th April 2026”

If I Fall at 53two Theatre

A thoroughly enjoyable showcase of monologues and duologues that were warm, witty, heartfelt and deeply human.

What stood out most was the honesty of the writing. Each piece felt rooted in real experience and reflection, with characters full of memory, connection, resilience and quiet courage. There was humour in all the right places, but also impactful moments of tenderness and emotional truth. These were not simply performances; they were lived stories shared with generosity.

The monologues gave individuals an opportunity to shine, revealing strong unique voices and beautifully observed details. The duologues brought a lovely sense of connection, allowing relationships to unfold with charm, timing and emotional depth.

There was a genuine sense of community throughout the evening. The performers supported one another as a powerfully orchestrated ensemble. It was a reminder that creativity does not diminish with age. In fact, it often deepens — enriched by life’s colourful tapestry.

This was an uplifting celebration of storytelling, experience and theatrical spirit. A rich, entertaining and inspiring evening from a company with plenty to say through crafted writing and thoughtful direction.
